Chill Roof is a quirky little boutique hotel whose 10 rooms feel more like someone's real bedroom, with patterned rugs, bright paints, beanbags, wigwams, hammocks and funky wallpaper. Bathrooms are big and elegant, with clawfoot tubs. Another plus is that rooms are huge, something pretty rare in squashed Taipei. There's no breakfast; the room, albeit gorgeous, is all you get.
Entrance is through a rather shabby commercial building and old lift, but once you reach the 11th floor, the hotel is very smart. One of the rooms does not have a window; check when you book.
