At Hók House, you can enjoy history and style without sacrificing comfort and your wallet. The 1950s building was the old Grand Crane Palace Hotel (鶴宮大旅社) – see the original lettering above the entrance. Interiors were rebuilt from scratch in a restrained Japanese art deco style. The 15 rooms, shared living room and communal kitchen are impeccably designed and presented.
Check in is via the Hók House app. All guests receive a hand-drawn map with restaurant and bar recommendations upon arrival. Breakfast is served in the cafe on the ground floor. Enquire the owners about cooking classes if you're interested.
