One of Taiwan's niche coffee growers, little family-run Kintuka also bakes homemade, stick-shaped coffee biscuits, creates turmeric-yellowed tea and produces August-ripening 'golden fruit' (abiu, originally from Amazonia). Assuming you plan to buy something, tastings are free on a small shaded terrace overlooking an amphitheatre of green ridges and Huayuan Bay beach, some 400m vertically below.
Coffee beans cost NT$800 for 225g, tea NT$900 for 30 bags, cookies NT$250 per pack. Access is up 3km of very narrow lane starting from the traffic lights at Km396.5 of Hwy 9, around 6km north of central Taimali.
