The pizza is excellent, with a thin, crispy, melt-in-the-mouth crust (half is ideal for one person). But the idiosyncratic decor is a big part of the attraction too, with surfboards out front, swing table in the middle, and piano, violin and guitars awaiting spontaneous musical outbursts.
On a classic evening the eponymous American proprietor, Pete, might set things swinging with banjo or fiddle. But when he's away, it can take rivers of sweat before the otherwise friendly staff can be persuaded to turn on the AC.
