Laozhou Dumplings

Hualien

This modest shop has been whipping up delicious dumplings of all sorts, as well as noodles and soups, since 1975.

Their xiǎolóngbāo (小籠包) are small white Chinese buns with pork stuffing while steamed ones (蒸餃; zhēng jiǎo) have thin, translucent wraps like Japanese gyoza.
