Fuyuan B&B

Hualien

All but four of Fuyuan's rooms are in a well-preserved traditional mansion, set between little carp ponds, a classically Fujian-style tearoom and a pretty area of garden. Rooms are comfortable if sometimes a tad musty and/or dark. It's 5km south of Hualien, just off coastal highway 193 in an otherwise unpromising neighbourhood.

A taxi from Ji'an station should cost about NT$200.
