Tikehau Bed & Breakfast

The Tuamotus

This is the only pension in the village. You have two options here. The four bungalows won't knock your socks off but are in good nick. For solo travellers, the spacious six-bed dorm fits the bill, but expect plenty of mosquitoes – mercifully, mosquito nets are provided. The property opens onto the lagoon, but the shore here is fronted by some craggy coral formations.

The ablution block (with cold water) is OK, and there's a communal kitchen. The name 'Bed & Breakfast' is misleading – the owners don't live on the premises, so you won't find the family atmosphere that's typical of other pensions. Wi-fi costs extra. A few rusty bikes are available.
