Atuana Lodge

Mo'orea

Concealed behind a rather dull wall is this welcoming place run by a French-Tahitian couple. The two rooms in the owners’ house are immaculate; try for the one upstairs, which has a better lagoon view. For do-it-yourself types, there’s also a self-contained bungalow with a tiny bedroom and outside toilets. Kayaks are free. What’s missing? A ‘real’ beach.

There are no eateries nearby, but you can order a meal if you don’t fancy cooking. Transfers to/from the ferry quay are free. There's a minimum stay of two nights. Cash only.
