This place is a heartbreaker. Right at the tip of Matira Point, it enjoys a sensational setting, with unobstructed views of the turquoise lagoon, and it's competitively priced (by Bora Bora standards) and within walking distance of various shops and restaurants. Sadly, we’ve heard reports of variable service and a lack of maintenance.
If you can bear that, it's an acceptable plan B. Rooms are in bare, fan-cooled homes, all with shared kitchen. A few rooms have private facilities (cold-water bathrooms). Due to erosion, the shore is more rocky than sandy, but Matira Beach is just a coconut’s throw away. No wi-fi when we visited.
