This folklore museum, its collection spanning everything from pastoral paintings to embroidery, provides an insight into rural Appenzell life. From April to October there are daily live weaving demonstrations, as well as twice-weekly demonstrations of traditional cheesemaking in the museum's 400-year-old dairy.
Bus 193 runs hourly to Stein (Sfr7.20, 21 minutes) from Appenzell.
