This hostel offers beds year-round in the small converted cells of an old prison. It’s in a handy location, between the ferry dock and the harbour restaurants, and there’s an inviting terrace bar in summer. Reception is open from 8am to 3pm (from 9am to noon mid-August to late June), so call ahead if you are arriving outside these times.
Take a look at the historic poster listing the crimes you could be imprisoned for in Sweden during the mid-19th century: 'Noise, illegal bathing and being dressed as an Easter witch…'!
