Le Pharest

The East

Near the lighthouse, this compact tropical cocoon offers five wooden bungalows that are set in an exuberant garden. They're fairly ramshackle and filled with wholly unpretentious furniture, but are kept in good nick. Precious perks include a small swimming pool and a restaurant (menu €22). What sets it apart, though, is the congenial atmosphere and the friendly welcome of Nadège and Patrick.

Air-con is extra (€3). If you stay three nights or more, it's worth opting for the fully equipped, spacious (51 sq m) gîte across the road (three nights for €225).
