Simon's

St Vincent & the Grenadines

Had enough of lobster and just hankering for a good cheese-and-salad roll? You're in luck. Head up the hill to this tiny grocery store to order a half or full fresh-baked baguette packed with cheddar and greens. Best-value feed in the Grenadines. There's no sign, but everyone knows it.

Hang around while you eat and talk to the interesting owner John Roache, a local Justice of the Peace who takes the title seriously – he loves to write to world leaders to petition for greater harmony. He is also the man to see if you get a cut or a sprain on the island as he has basic medical training. Donations of bandages and supplies are appreciated. He'll also gladly take your used books off your hands.
