Hang Ten

Take a dated concrete hotel on the seafront, pimp it up with backpacker-geared appeal (yoga deck, rooftop bar-resto, surfboard racks) and end up with the Hang Ten hostel. The private rooms are on the ground level and have private verandas, while dorms have attached hot-water bathrooms, mosquito nets, reading lights and individual fans and lockers. Excursions are offered, including booze cruises and safaris.
