Kandy Cottage

Kandy

Run by Thomas and Mani, a very welcoming couple, this slightly bohemian place is a great escape from the city, a Sri Lankan cottage tucked away in a forested valley on the fringes of the Udawattakelle Sanctuary. There are three rooms (or you can rent the entire cottage) with chunky wooden furniture and polished concrete floors, though no air-con.

It's about 2km north of the centre.
