Gamodh Citadel Resort

Anuradhapura

A terrific rural hotel, offering comfortable and excellent-value rooms in two new blocks, with slightly dated and smaller rooms in the old building. The landscaped grounds are relaxing, with tables dotted around a generously sized pool, and meals are very flavourful. It's 6km west of the commercial centre, but quite close to the western ruins.

Book directly to get the cheapest rates, as booking website rates are closer to US$55 for a double. More rooms are planned for 2018.
