La Casueña

Aragón

Tiny Lanuza village, 3km south of Sallent de Gállego, was abandoned in 1976 when the reservoir which it now so picturesquely overlooks was created. The waters never reached the village and its people have since gradually returned. One family decided to replace their cowshed with a small hotel and the result is this charming combination of highly original arts and crafts with cosy comfort.

The friendly owners serve good dinners (€15 to €25) if ordered earlier in the day, with vegetarian and coeliac dishes available.
