Now here's something special. In remote El Gasco, La Meancera has classy, intimate decor (white wooden furnishings, an open kitchen) and fabulous food, mostly sourced from its own gardens and neighbouring farms. The menu changes seasonally but the cooking is assured with the clever use of local herbs. The presentation is exquisite using Las Hurdes slate and service is warm.
Advance reservations are always recommended, especially on weekends and public holidays. It sometimes closes on Mondays in the depths of winter, another reason to ring ahead.
