Palma de Mallorca

Stepping into the 16th-century Ca'n Maroto, once the palatial home of the Marquis of Ferrandell, whisks you back in time. From the palatial reception area, a spiral staircase leads to a red-carpeted hallway where carved wooden doors creak open to reveal simply furnished rooms, and high ceilings dwarf antique, slightly careworn furniture. The staff can appear careworn too, at times.
