To fully immerse yourself in Menorca's British past, stay at welcoming, red-walled Collingwood House, once the residence of Admiral Cuthbert Collingwood, Nelson’s fellow commander-at-sea. It’s now a charming hotel, 1.5km southeast of central Maó, replete with maritime reminiscences, pool, terrace, bar and harbour views. There are 10 atmospheric rooms in the historical building; others, more modern, frame the pool.
