La Favorita

Madrid

Set in a delightful old mansion, La Favorita is famous for its opera arias throughout the night, sung by professional opera singers masquerading as waiters – they break into song from 9pm to midnight Monday to Friday, and 1.30pm to 4pm Saturday. The music and food (which leans towards the cuisine of the northeastern Spanish region of Navarra) are top drawer.

The outdoor garden courtyard is delightful on a summer’s evening.
