The place to come for a real paella, not the tourist version too often found in Madrid, La Barraca has been serving down-home Valencian cooking in the capital since 1935. Try el esgarrat con aceite de oliva (roasted red peppers with cod) and, of course, what many believe to be the best paella in Madrid.
It does all paella varieties, but the true Valencian version – with beans, chicken and/or rabbit – is the speciality. It takes two to make a paella order.
