Jaca’s 11th-century cathedral is a formidable building, typical of the sturdy stone architecture of northern Aragón. It was once more gracefully French Romanesque in style, but Gothic and Renaissance alterations bequeathed a hybrid look. The interior retains some fine features, notably the northwest-corner chapel dedicated to Santa Orosia, Jaca’s patron saint, whose martyrdom is depicted in mysterious murals.
