Abastos 2.0

Top choice in Santiago de Compostela

This incredibly popular marketside eatery offers delicious, mainly seafood-focused dishes concocted daily from the market's offerings. Inside is one 12-seat table (the 'Barra') with a daily-changing menu served in five sittings. Outside are streetside tables where they serve small to medium-size individual dishes. Opposite is their marginally more conventional dining room (open from 1.30pm), with a five-course menú for €30 plus drinks.

In all parts, the seafood is generally fantastic, but whatever's on offer, you're likely to love the great flavours and delicate presentation. Reservations are highly advisable for the two restaurant sections.
