Plaza del Solar

At the foot of Portugalete's medieval centre, this cobbled square makes for a fine photo with its handsome 19th-century buildings and august monument to Víctor Chávarri (1854–1900), a local industrialist, business person and politician. At the plaza's heart, an ornate bandstand provides the outdoor stage for regular Sunday performances by the local brass band.
