La Pilara

Zaragoza

Ruby-red walls covered with copies of pre-civil war posters and photos, combined with discreet lighting, an animated atmosphere and tasty tapas and raciones (full-plate serves of tapas) make this one of the most popular spots in Zaragoza's El Tubo tapas quarter.

Some quite original tapas – eg mushroom risotto or bacalao (cod)-stuffed peppers – are arrayed along the bar, and there are tasty bocadillos (long filled rolls) and platters such as breaded squid, solomillo (tenderloin) al cava or fish carpaccios.
