Kaross

Limpopo

Next to the busy workshop, a shop sells vivid wall hangings, cushion covers, tunics and table mats, designed here and embroidered by 1200 local Shangaan women. The quality is very good and the designs are skilful and colourful. There’s an excellent courtyard cafe with decadent desserts.

Some 30km east of Tzaneen, turn left onto Rte 529 to Giyani and, after 9km, the Kaross embroidery cooperative is on your right.
