Royal Country Inn

KwaZulu-Natal

This old dame exudes a slightly faded, late-19th-century charm, and its English-style flavour is perfect for a spot of post–Rorke’s Drift R&R. The rooms are tidy, but the furnishings and other amenities are quite dated, although they are generally comfortable. What you come for, though, is the eclectic lounge and restaurant area that's dripping with colonial airs.

The restaurant (dinner R225) and bar are worth checking out whether or not you're checked in to the hotel. Wi-fi is available in the common areas.
