Chez Batista's

Mahé

The impressive thatched canopy, the sand floor and the endless turquoise bay in front of you help the switch to 'relax' mode. The location outshines the food, which is sometimes good, sometimes average. The eclectic Creole buffet (Rs 450) is a Sunday south-coast highlight. Curries and fresh seafood are the norm. It's wise to book on weekends.

Watch also for their seafood buffet du jour.
