Loutier Coco

La Digue

The ocean breezes blowing off Grand Anse flow straight through the cool confines of Loutier Coco. It's famous for its lunchtime buffets of grilled fish, traditional Creole curries and salads, fruit and coffee, though this spread is only put on when ordered ahead by larger groups – it's worth calling to time your visit for one.

Otherwise the à la carte menu is full of similar dishes, as well as sandwiches, omelettes and chicken stir-fry. The only downside is having to look at the beach through a chain-link fence – an odd installation given the restaurant is fronted by a lovely white picket fence.
