This dramatic 63-suite resort climbs its way up the tree-covered slope that overlooks the harbour, with spacious, well-appointed villas nestled among giant granite boulders. Its two restaurants, bar area and private pool are all on the oceanfront, which is just a skip across the road from reception. The spa, with staggering views, sits at the top of the hill.
The Villa de Charme (double from €500) and Villa de Charme Elégance (double from €700) are truly stunning, each full of warm woods, signature stone walls, vaulted thatched ceilings, theatrical mosquito nets, massive fabric prints and grand bathrooms. However, the 20 'Garden Villa' suites and eight Jardin Suite Residences – both featuring sprawling, contemporary interiors, complete with nightclub-esque lighting effects and low ceilings – lack the same tropical fairy-tale appeal.
