The oldest and most atmospheric of the city's markets is located on a road between the town centre and the Danube, and it used to be the go-to place for fresh fish (hence the name). Nowadays it's a regular green market where you can stock up on fruit and vegetables, meat, cheese and other groceries. It's also worth stopping by late in the evening for occasional events like the Museum Night or the Tales of Novi Sad.
There are some atmospheric cafes tucked away in the adjacent wooden portion.
