Some 28km south of Saint-Louis, this relaxed place has plenty of character. You can stay in well-equipped, low-roofed Mauritanian-style tents (with private outdoor baths) or, if you want a bit more comfort, in pretty wood cabins that house two to eight people. All have private terraces with fine views.
The property overlooks a pretty shoreline, and there's also an inviting pool, hammocks strung about and lounge space to enjoy the peaceful setting. You can use the kayaks, play petanque, have an African dance lesson and arrange birdwatching excursions by pirogue through the national park. There's also an outstandingly good restaurant. While appealing, it's not luxurious – the tents have cold water only and there's limited electricity: nightly from 6pm to midnight (wi-fi is available from 7pm to midnight).
