The former home of famous Scottish poet Hugh MacDiarmid is now a simple camping böd. It has no electricity or shower, but there is fuel for sale. Prebook online or by phone. Heading out of Symbister towards Isbister, it’s on the left about half a mile from town. It was closed for renovations when we visited and a reopening date was uncertain.
