Skipness Seafood Cabin

Attached to Skipness House, near the castle, this place has a great summer scene on a fine day, serving no-frills but delicious local fish and shellfish dishes at outdoor picnic tables that have grand views over the grassy coast across to Arran. It's famous for its crab rolls, which are on the small side: add on a pot of mussels or plate of gravadlax.
