Set in a lovingly restored 19th-century town house just a short walk from the train station, Friars Wynd offers eight bedrooms of varying size, many with period features such as Victorian cast-iron fire surrounds or exposed patches of original red-brick walls. The 1st-floor rooms are directly above the bar and restaurant, so they can be a little noisy at weekends.
