Right on a fine stretch of beach with a magnificent outlook to Islay and Jura, this traditional inn 10 miles north of Campbeltown on the main road is run with cheery panache. Rooms are cosy and breakfast is a highlight, with creative egg dishes and a wealth of homemade jams, as you gaze over the water.
The restaurant does some inventive fusion fare. The water reaches the heady heights (for Scotland) of 11°C in summer if you fancy a dip. Don't confuse this place with the Argyll Arms Hotel in Campbeltown itself.
