Le Tapacala

Réunion

Not your average B&B, this upscale venture is the pride and joy of your hosts, who can speak English and German and are well clued-up about the island. The three rooms are huge and tastefully designed, with clean lines, tiled floors and elegant furnishings, and open onto a well-tended tropical garden. Dinner costs €35.

Overall, it's a very pleasant place to stay but, despite the initial 'wow' factor, it's a bit overpriced by Cilaos standards (and there's no wi-fi). It's at the entrance to Îlet à Cordes (coming from Cilaos).
