The pyramid-shaped Sheraton Doha is more than a place to stay; it’s an institution. The oldest of Doha’s five-star hotels, it still has one of the best locations, with wonderful views from its light-filled, clean, simple rooms with balconies (and some with split levels). In the evening, venture to the basement for some live music at the Irish Harp pub. One of the most unusual features of this hotel is the display cabinets full of antiques along one of the corridors leading to the pool area. Stop and marvel at beautifully ornate ancient jugs, boxes and other artefacts.
