Standing grandly over a corner of the plaza, this 69-room, lemon-yellow colonial-era building is one of Ponce's most engaging places to unpack. The historical building, location and clutch of amenities, plus a mix of classic colonial and modern rooms, keep it among the top options in the city center.
Of the two connected buildings, the best rooms (the colonial ones) face the square, with black-and-white-tiled floors and balconies; those in the back are clean but have little in the way of atmosphere. The courtyard pool is tiny, but with two class eateries, chic design elements and an open-air bar, it's well worth a stop even if you aren't staying here.
