A cosy spot nestled behind an arch in the historic centre, this oh-so-typical restaurant does brisk business serving a mixed crowd of locals and out-of-towners. What keeps them coming are evergreen regional staples such as cabritinho grelhado (grilled kid) and bacalhau (dried salt-cod) in various guises.

The tiny outdoor pateo (patio), for which it's named, is open in summer.
