Restaurant Vale do Zêzere

Over the river from the centre in the hotel of the same name, this casual family-run restaurant scores across the board. The food is excellent – try the medalhão de vitela (veal steak) garnished with cheese and juniper berries – service is brisk, and its often crowded dining room creates a pleasant buzz, even in seemingly quiet periods.
