O Tachadas

Príncipe Real, Santos & Estrela

On closer inspection, this seemingly undistinguished tasca near Santos train station reveals some very serious carnivorous happenings. There are other things on the menu, but this patron-packed grillhouse is all about thick, juicy, way-too-cheap steaks slapped on the churrasco by a meticulous grillman and served table-side on wooden planks known as tábuas.

The best cuts – costeleta de Novilho (veal chop), bife da vazia (sirloin) – are big enough to feed two unless you're starving.
