Local

Príncipe Real, Santos & Estrela

Fancy a chef's table experience masquerading as a gourmet picnic with strangers? Local's tiny, minimalist 18-sq-metre space harbours just 20 seats per night, set up as a communal, silver-plated, glorified picnic table that turns over twice per night (8pm and 10pm). An arm's length away, a rotating gourmet chef works an oft-changing, seasonal menu forged from Portuguese bounty recast with their own influences.

There's no use talking specific dishes and chefs as they turn over two or three times a year, but fresh, innovative and surprising dishes to accompany your meal with your nine new best friends are guaranteed. Book ahead, obviously.
