Frade dos Mares

Príncipe Real, Santos & Estrela

This smart, contemporary bistro keeps the mood relaxed with soft lighting and unobtrusive yet on-point service. The consistently great menu is mostly simple – sirloin steak, grilled fish – with a few wild-cards (duck magret with berries, cornbread-crusted bacalhau), but everything is cooked to the satisfied delight of a business crowd at lunch and more varied food-appreciative customers at dinner.

The octopus cataplana (for one or two people) looks as beautiful as it tastes.
