Hotel Alegria

Overlooking a palm-dotted plaza, this lemon-fronted belle-époque gem was completely made over in 2016, making the leap from midrange residencial (guesthouse) to a nearly boutique-hotel standard. Despite that, it was indefinitely closed again for renovations in 2018. At the time of research rooms featured muted blue-grey bathroom azulejos and matching curtains, and original hardwood-floored corridors revealed stucco and antiques.
