Bairro Alto Hotel

Bairro Alto, Chiado & Cais do Sodré

On a pretty square is Lisbon's most storied luxury hotel, dating from 1921. It reopened in early 2019 after a massive €30 million redesign by Pritzker Prize–winning architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, who oversaw 32 new rooms, a redesigned reception and an entirely new 5th-floor restaurant (BAHR, by lauded chef Nuno Mendes) with a panoramic terrace for food and sundowners.
