At a picturesque spot next to the bridge in Cabril – 40km west of Montalegre on the way to Vila do Gerês – this place does good river trout and, if you order ahead, cabrito or javali assado (roast wild boar). There’s an outdoor deck right over the water that makes a great destination for an afternoon pick-me-up.
