With the cheery Andre, his family and a young, enthusiastic staff at the helm, the hospitality is oh-so Portuguese (read: happy and generous) at this excellent tasca (tavern) featuring a wonderful terrace with lush hillside views.
Fresh bread is baked in the wood-fired oven, and each day brings a small selection of daily specials – one meat, one fish, one veg – along with well-executed staples such as bacalhau a lagareiro (salted cod with olive oil, onions and potatoes), ox tail or pork cheeks.
