One of Portugal's band of growing 'glostels' (glamorous hostels) – stylish, minimal design, attention to detail and some of the whitest, brightest and cleanest rooms around make this worth a look. There's a female dorm and a family room – and breakfast is included. It was a former laboratory (the owner's father-in-law was a pharmacist), and old chemist jars and bottles make for fun objets d'art.
Cute loft rooms are the only ones with air-conditioning, but are not for tall people.
